يعد اختبار متاهات بورتيوس أحد الاختبارات التي تستخدم لقياس درجة القدرات العقلية للأفراد المعاقين فكريا. المطلوب عرض المقياس بالتفصيل من حيث ما يلي:
١- وصف المقياس.
٢- تعليمات تطبيق المقياس.

This question assesses your understanding of the Conceptual Data Model (CDM)
presented in section 5 of Block 1.
Give a conceptual data model (CDM) for the following given scenario using the Entity-
Relationship model, including the complete E-R diagram, the entity types, attributes,
any required constraints, assumptions and limitations.
Network Solutions Services is a networking products supplier in GCC. Its main functions
are giving support to other enterprises in GCC to build their own networks by supplying or
providing them all with modern networking products from the biggest networking
companies like, CISCO, MOTOROLLA and 3COM. The data related to the company
employees are Employee ID, Employee Name, Job title, Address, Salary. The employee ID
is unique in the company. The company has many departments. Each employee belongs to
one department only. The department can have employees with different job descriptions.
The department is identified with an ID. Other characteristics are department name and
telephone extension. The company keeps inventory for the supply. Each item product in the
inventory has an ItemID, supplier name, category, brand, quantity in stock and price. The
data held on Brand is brandID, brand name, brand description. Each item must be belonging
to one brand (CISCO, LINKSYS, ..etc). Each item has category (for example: Router,
switch, cable) the category has categoryID, category name and description. The supplier can
supply many items from different brands and it has supplierID, name, Address, emailID and
telephone number. The customer can make one or many orders and the employee may order
many orders, and the details are customerID, name, orderDate. The order contains orderID,
Date, customer id, EmployeeID and total price. The customer can be from any GCC
countries. When purchasing order occurs, in addition to the order information all product
information and quantity purchased must be identified and recorded for each product. To
smoothen the order process a maximum of 100 orders is allowed in one day.

1. Write JavaScript program according to the following:
a. Define a JavaScript function multiConcat, that takes a String and a
number as arguments, and returns a String that is the argument string
concatenated with itself n number of times (where n is the second
argument). For example, if the arguments are 'Salam' and 4, the return
value is 'SalamSalamSalamSalam'.
b. Define another JavaScript function reverse that takes a string as
argument and returns the reverse of that word. For example, if the
argument is 'Salam', the return value is 'malaS'.
c. Ask the user to enter a string and a positive number greater than 0.
Assume the user enters a valid number.
d. Print the values entered by the user in the output window.
e. Use the function multiConcat to display the string concatenated with
itself a number of times in the output window.
f. Use the function reverse to display the reverse of the string returned
from calling the function multiConcat in the output window.
g. Run your program to make sure it works as specified. Provide screenshots

Question 2 [20 marks]
In unit9, page 21 you were introduced to the methods associated with Date object. In
the same unit, sections 3.2 and 4.2 you learned how to use functions from the
"drawingLibrary.js" and the "dateLibrary.js" in JavaScript programs. The specifications
for all the functions in these libraries are in section 3.2 and Appendix 1 of unit 9. You can
also get the JavaScript code of these libraries from the course CD.
Using functions from both the "drawingLibrary.js" and the "dateLibrary.js" and some
methods of the Date object type, write JavaScript program to do the following:
a. Draw a red right arrow of length 30.
b. Draw a green right arrow of length 30.
c. Create a Date object representing your date of birth and display it in long form.
(e.g. 22 November 2014)
d. Display the day name of your birthday date.
e. Create another Date object representing todays' date.
f. Calculate the difference in years and days between the two dates you've created
and print them in the output window.

You are required to model a new user-defined object type, BusinessCard.
The BusinessCard object type has the following properties:
name: a string representing the name of the person in the Business Card.
jobTitle: a string representing the title of the of the person in the Business Card.
phone: a string representing the contact number of the person in the Business Card.
email: a string representing the email of the person in the Business Card.
The BusinessCard object type has the following methods:
getName(): a method that returns the name of the person in the Business Card.
geTitle(): a method that returns the jobTitle of the person in the Business Card.
getPhone():a method that returns the contact number of the person in the Business Card.
getEmail(): a method that returns the email of the person in the Business Card..
printCard(): a method that displays (in an alert window) all the information of the Business

Part A: Asymmetric and Symmetric keys (20 marks)
From your study of Asymmetric and symmetric key cryptography, use your own words to
compare between them in terms of:

Part B: Data Encryption Standard (DES) (35 marks)
The Data Encryption Standard (DES) [1][2] is a symmetric-key algorithm for the
encryption of electronic data, which you studied briefly in T215B. This task aims to assist
you in learning more about the DES. Your answer should be as report which starting with
introduction and ending with conclusion, the report should be within 1000 – 1200 words
(long report, you should adhere to word count), the report should include sections and
sub suctions, and at least one figure or table, your report must have proper citations and
references. The body of your report should answer the following questions:

3. Describe the key generation of the Simplified DES algorithm? It is preferable to

Part C: Simplified DES (45 marks)
This part is a practical task. Based on the previous study of DES in Part B, you have to test
the algorithm but using the Simplified DES.
1. ASCII code is a fixed-length coding scheme. Using the 7-bit ASCII code table [3] or
any other references, find the corresponding code for the first letter of your first
name, add 1 to the left position of the most significant bit (MSB), for example your
name is Xxxx Ssss, the first letter is X, its ASCII is 1011000, adding 1 to the left
position of MSB yields to 11011000. These bits sequence is the message that you
will encrypt using the Simplified DES algorithm. (6 marks)
2. Based on the understanding of Q3 of Bart B, use the 10 bits password
(1100110010) to generate the keys (K1 and K2). (7 marks)
Your answer should be detailed, you should show each output of each step of the
algorithm besides the final answers.

3. Based on the understanding of Q4 of Bart B, use the generated keys of Q2 – Part C
to encrypt the message of Q1 – Part C using the Simplified DES algorithm. (30

During your study of T215A, you studied batteries and their importance for mobile phones
and other electrical and electronic devices. This task aims to spotlight more on this field,
specially the “Supercapacitors”. Supercapacitors are challenging the dominance of lithium
batteries as energy storage elements to power modern electronic devices (mobile phones,
tablets, PDAs, etc.)
Using the AOU e-library or any reliable resource, write a short report about
supercapacitors for portable devices. Your report should answer the following questions:
1. Introduction about supercapacitors and how they work (5 marks)
2. Advantages of supercapacitors compared to Lithium batteries (10 marks)
3. Difficulties that face the use of supercapacitors in portable devices (10 marks)
Your report should be within the range of 700 – 800 word count, it should include
introduction, body, conclusion, and at least one figure or table, the last part of your report
should be the references, they should be from reliable sources. You can use any proper
format or style of references that includes the information of (Title, Author(s) name(s),
publication date, etc.). (Even if you use references, you should write your report using your
own words in addition to cross-referencing)

very little about the wired LAN. This Task aims to focus on the wired LAN – Ethernet. Using
your word, answer the following questions?

Two students are trying to download two files from the internet, student (A) is downloading
File (A) which has the size of 110 MB while student (B) is trying to download the second
one, file (B), which has the size of 50 MB. Student (A) is using internet of download speed
of 400 Kbps while student (B) is using internet of download speed of 200 Kbps.

1. How long does it take to download file (A) by student (A), express your answer in
seconds and minutes? (4 marks)
2. How long does it take to download file (B) by student B, express your answer in
seconds and minutes? (4 marks)
3. Which student will download his file first? (2 marks)
4. Both students finished downloading them and decided to compress the files before

USB flash drives. There are different types of wear leveling mechanisms with different algorithms used for
each type.

Flexible displays are considered as one of the biggest revolutions in mobile phone designs since the advent of
the touchscreen. The research and development in this field reached an advanced stage; some prototypes have
been presented by phone manufacturers in the last years (YOUM from Samsung for instance) and even some
phones have been commercialized with some basic features of flexible displays (curved screens such as in
Galaxy Round from Samsung and G-Flex from LG). However, there are some challenges and issues that are
still to be handled before having full-flexible (bendable) screens in the mobile phone market.
Using the AOU e-library or any Internet reliable resource, you are asked to prepare a short report on flexible
displays for mobile phones. Your report should include the following information:

This question carries 40% of the marks for this assignment
As you have seen in Block 2, Public Key Infrastructure is “a combination of services and encryption
techniques that together are used to protect the security of data over networks”. It includes a number of
entities such as: Registration authority, certification authority, directory services and certificate and key
management services. In this question, you are asked to better understand how a certification authority works
by using a simple CA tool named xCA [1]. In particular, you are asked to use1
this tool to:

1- Create a certification authority (CA) that has a self-signed certificate.
a. Generate RSA key pair for the CA (2048 bits)
b. Create a self-signed certificate for the CA using the pair of keys you have generated in step a.
The following fields in the certificate distinguished name should be set as follow:
i. The organization name is AOU
ii. commonName is CA-“your name”
iii. Email address: ca-“your ID”@arabou.org
2- Issue a certificate signing request as follows
a. Generate a new RSA key pairs (1024 bits)
b. Create a certificate signing requests using the pair of keys you have generated in step a. The
following fields in the certificate distinguished name should be set as follows:
i. The organization name is AOU
ii. commonName is “your name”
iii. Email address: your email address

You should follow these steps using the abovementioned tool (xCA) and understand the main inputs and
choices you are asked to do in each step. The explanation of these choices should be included in your answer.
You should refer to your tutor for any help regarding the installation of the tool to avoid unnecessary delays.

The deliverables of this question are:
 A report that explains the different steps you have made. You should take screenshots of each step that
clearly show the inputs (each part can have several screenshots by showing the inputs in each tab of
the GUI). The screenshots should be clear and at the same time you should not use a very high
resolution in order to keep the size of the TMA file reasonable. In addition, you should explain for
each screenshot the different options and choices you have taken (without entering into in-depth
details: for instance when talking about extensions in a certificate, you should explain what do we
mean by extension with one example but without detailing what each extension is about).
 The two certificates you have generated during the exercise. The question will not be validated if the
files are not uploaded along with the TMA (put all TMA files in one zip file and upload it to the TMA
upload activity)

- ينبغي أن تجيب عن الأسئلة بنفسك، وبأسلوبك الخاص .
- المطلوب طباعة الواجب وتسليمه عبر المنبر الالكتروني الخاص بالفرع (LMS).
- بالإمكان استخدام المكتبة الإلكترونية الخاصة بالجامعة.
- سوف يقوم عضو هيئة التدريس بمناقشتك في إجابتك، فضلاً عن تدوينه لملاحظاته على هذه الإجابات ،والتي ينبغي الاسترشاد بها كتغذية راجعة.
- مراعاة التوثيق بطريقة علمية .
- توخي الدقة في الأمانة العلمية.
- تمثل الحالات التالية أنماطاً من الغشّ والسرقة العلمية تحرمها لوائح الجامعة:-
‌أ. النسخ الحرفي للمواد المطبوعة وتقديمها ضمن الواجبات الدراسية دون توثيق علمي حسب الأصول.
‌ب. النسخ الحرفي للمادة التي تظهر على شبكة الانترنت بما في ذلك الجداول والصور.
‌ج. نسخ ملاحظات الطلبة الآخرين أو تقاريرهم.
‌د. المادة التي يعدّها للطالب أفراد أو مؤسسات، بأجر أو بدون أجر.
ﻫ. استخدام المواد أو الأدوات الممنوعة في الامتحانات، أو الشروع في ذلك.

" بدأ التعليم في الكويت منذ نشأتها الأولى في حقبة ما قبل النفط وتدرج متطوراً في عدة مراحل ابتداء من التعليم الديني البحت في المساجد والذي يقتصر على الشباب فقط وصولاً لمرحلة التعليم النظامي ومشاركة الفتيات بالتعليم " .

أكتب موضوعاً بما لا يزيد عن 5 صفحات عن كل من التعليم والحركة الثقافية بدولة الكويت في حقبة ما قبل النفط متضمناً جميع مراحل التعليم بالترتيب بداية من مرحلة المسجد وصولاً لمرحلة التعليم النظامي وكذلك دور الرواد الأوائل في بناء الحركة الثقافية بشكل عام .
