Tear gas (from lacrima, tear and genesis, which generates) is a generic term for all the compounds causing temporary incapacitation through irritation of eyes and / or respiratory system.
Tear gas are the most common irritants chlorobenzylidene 2-malononitrile (also known as "CS", the initials of Corson and Stoughton, chemists have synthesized the molecule), chloroacetophenone (CN), dibenzoxazepine ("CR") and the respiratory irritant "OC pepper" spray.
