Introduction to Gravitation
Publisher: World Scientific Publishing Company | English | DJVU | 1985 | 354 pages | ISBN: 9971500493 | 2.9 MB
This book is primarily intended for undergraduate students in physics who wish to begin the study of the gravitational interaction. A fairly good knowkedge of special relativity and of the electromagnetic theory are the only basic requirements needed for the reading of this book. In fact, for the reader's convenience, we have tried to make the book self-contained as much as possible, recalling and introducing briefly each time all the notions necessary for the develoment of the theory, such as the tensor calculus, the variational formalism, elementary notions of astronomy, the basic principles of the gauge theories, the calculus of the exterior forms, and so on.
