Keith Lockett Physics in the Real World "
Cambridge University Press | 1990-07-27 | ISBN:0521366909 | Djvu | 208 pages | 1,8 Mb
This book briefly outlines various physics principles (it helps if you already have a working understanding). Following each of these outlines (there are 24 in all) is a set of questions that are pulled from everyday life. There are questions for all levels of understanding. Answers are included in the back - some with further explanation of the physics behind the example.
A sample question: "You are given a cup of coffee with the handle facing away from you. you turn the cup around. Does the coffee stay still or does it move wtih the cup?"
Topics include mechanics, magnitism, electricity, optics, atomic, data gathering, etc... There is also a collection of supplementary questions at the end of the text. These are just more "fun" questions of applied physics.
