Physics 2 follows on from the earlier Physics 1 title, retaining the excellent layout and progressive structure. As before, carefully written Self-assessment questions (SAQs) help students to test whether or not they have begun to grasp the key ideas presented in the text. Having the answers in the back is found to be invaluable for these. Each chapter begins with a summary of its contents, which can be a very useful revision check list. The text is well-written and to the point, explaining most of the topics very well indeed. A good use is made of modern colour photography, including examples of how experiments can be performed in school labs to confirm theories.Ends of chapters carry a large selection of exam-standard questions, but this time no answers are included in the back. This is useful for teachers, but somewhat annoying for students. Nevertheless, since the book is supposed to be used alongside the OCR specification, I suspect teachers would dislike it if they were present. This book could be used outside of the OCR A2 course, but more general texts are likely to be more useful
