In the area of tolerancing, CODE V 9.6 enhancements include a singular value decomposition algorithm that will automatically select the best subset of compensation parameters from a larger set of choices available to users. This will improve as-built performance during actual assembly of optical systems. Also, tolerancing data is now more readily exported to other software programs for manipulation and analysis. And, in terms of optimization, CODE V 9.6 capabilities have been extended with additional built-in constraint types, along with more flexibility for defining the optimization ray grid that will be a particular advantage for the design of wide angle-of-view systems.
