TheraDoc Antibiotic Assistant 3.2.0.2

The TheraDoc Antibiotic Assistant® provides the clinician the ability to generate a patient-specific and disease-specific evidence-based antibiotic recommendation.
The clinician can enter key patient demographic information and then by answering a series of disease specific questions, receive an antibiotic recommendation tailored to the needs of the patient.

The Antibiotic Assistant is the one tool that can provide true point of care clinical decision support.

What's New in the Antibiotic Assistant® for March 2006

The Antibiotic Assistant undergoes constant review to ensure that the information presented reflects the latest in clinical study and recommendation. In addition, we utilize feedback from our clients to identify and improve areas so that we might better fit the need of our end-users. This current version includes minor corrections and modifications to the Pneumonia module. New updates have also been made to gatifloxacin and ertapenem drug monographs. Please refer to the version history for a detailed list.

Corrected a drug recommendation in the Community-Acquired Pneumonia section.
Corrected a caveat in the Community-Acquired Pneumonia section.
Updated gatifloxacin drug monograph and added an additional caveat to reflect stronger warnings on hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia.
Updated ertapenem drug monograph to reflect new indications for use in patients with diabetic foot infections without osteomyelitis.

Review and update of Quick Guides

1. IMPORTANT: Uninstall any previous versions of TheraDoc
Start->Settings->System Tab->Remove Programs

2. Make sure you have at least 2.3 MB on your iPAQ device.

3. After clicking the "Download Now" button, choose "Open this file from its current location". When asked if you want to install and run AbxAssistCE.exe click yes.


4. The install application will launch. Follow the on-screen instructions and use the default settings.

5. To comfirm that the application has been installed appropriately, tap the "Start" menu on your iPAQ and look for TheraDoc.

If you see TheraDoc, congratulations! You have successfully installed the TheraDoc Antibiotic Assistant.

NOTICE: TheraDoc's handheld Antibiotic Assistant does not currently run from a memory card. The Antibiotic Assistant must be installed on main memory to work properly
