There is NOT ONE copy of this book in the worldcat , not one copy outside Denmark in public library, although in private collections there are copies in US, UK, Russia, Europe, Israel, India - but no copy in possession of any muslim people.

The author, Dr Per Moller is a very secretive and eccentric person who will not reply to emails past the first one - as in my experience. If any student is live in Denmark, please get a copy and scan it for all of us, even in Danish. We can then machine translate it. If any student is in DTU, then please get the pdf of all his student theses and help me with it as I need desperately. We are very backward in the field of practical electrodeposition and the research of Per Moller is all about this.

    Surface Technology

"Surface Technology" provides an overview of the myriad of methods
that are currently available when a material's surface must be
addressed and the book describes the respective processes,
    capabilities and limitations.

Coating is a rapidly evolving disciplines and with the increasing
social significance. It is used worldwide, in this usually rather
neglected area of significant human and financial resources, both for
research and development of new processes and production level.

The book illustrates how different requirements for a surface
properties, ranging from purely decorative purposes, the requirements
for strength and toughness and to protect against wear and corrosion,
each requires special methods, depending on the basic material, and
    character.

The technology thus enables the production of surfaces with controlled
properties for use in everything from retailing industry to the
aerospace industry. Ways ranging from widespread surface treatments,
such as paint, to highly specialized processes that involve the
    manipulation of atomic levels.

All this is dealt with in this, the most comprehensive book on the
    area to date!

Emphasis throughout the book is great emphasis on the material,
technological aspects, both the practical aspects as the theory behind
both in physical and chemical terms.

Also methods and equipment for examination and inspection of surfaces
    treated in detail.

The book is richly illustrated with examples of processes and process
equipment, surface appearance and structures and so on.

I am very much interested in this book [SCANNING NEEDED]. There is a new second edition also. This particular Dutch author is very STINGY so they have no ebook.

    Professor Per Møller, Ph.D.
[IMG] Professor Per Møller has a Ph.D. in surface technology from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and has during the past 30 years been engaged in contract research with industry covering nearly all aspects from micro plating under cleanroom conditions to design and implementation of industrial-scale electroplating lines. He is the author or co-author of more than 120 scientific papers and has taken more than 20 patents in the field of surface technology and electrochemistry. Currently, he is professor in corrosion and surface technology at MEK-DTU Section for Materials and Surface Engineering.

    Lars Pleth Nielsen, Ph.D.
[IMG] Dr. Lars Pleth Nielsen has a Ph.D. in surface science from Aarhus University and a managerial degree in Organization Management and Innovation from Copenhagen Business School (CBS). He has been employed as a research scientist at Haldor Topsøe and the photonic group at NKT Research and Innovation A/S. Currently, he is leading the Tribology Center at Danish Technological Institute.

Foreword from NASF for Advanced Surface Technology
Over the centuries, many forms of surface finishing have been developed and employed industrially by various means to enhance the value of surfaces in commerce. Surface deposition and modification processes have been essential in our modern world—for decoration, for corrosion resistance, for physical property enhancements and indeed for fabricating sophisticated and complex devices and articles in full.

The National Association for Surface Finishing (NASF), its educational arm, the AESF Foundation and its predecessor organizations have been in the forefront providing educational tools to build and advance the knowledge and application of surface finishing and allied arts worldwide. Years ago, the then-American Electroplaters' and Surface Finisher's Society sponsored a number of books, including Electroplating, by Frederick Lowenheim; The Properties of Electrodeposited Metals and Alloys, by William H. Safranek and The Theory and Practice of Pulse Plating, by Jean-Claude Puippe and Frank Leaman, among others.

Most of these volumes focused on electrodeposition, which was the primary metal finishing process used in the latter half of the 20th century. From the perspective of the second decade of the 21st century, it is quite obvious that ‘it is not just electroplating anymore’. Add to the mix the large field of organic finishing, and ‘it's not just painting anymore’ either.

Creativity and innovation have led to the discovery and commercialization of new technologies that are supplanting the tried and true. In addition, due to economic as well as well as regulatory factors completely new technologies have emerged. To name just a few available today, we have the various vapor-based deposition technologies and other vacuum-based processes, electroless deposition, plasma processing, ion implantation, thermal and chemical diffusion, thermal spraying and hardfacing, as well as innovation in traditional areas such as conversion coating and anodizing. Even more important the ability to combine the variety of processes to obtain highly optimized coating systems.

The present two-volume set of Advanced Surface Technology is arguably the most comprehensive ever to be published in the field of surface finishing. Drs. Per Møller and Lars Pleth Nielsen have devoted years of effort to provide, in their words, ‘a holistic view on the extensive and intertwined world of applied surface engineering’.

These two volumes serve as an inclusive and practical reference in manufacturing as well as a comprehensive text for university-level course work. Before delving into the variety of conventional and emerging surface finishing processes available to the 21st century practitioner, the authors cover the principles behind the processes, including wear and other mechanical properties, corrosion and electrochemistry. Throughout, the material also covers testing, property measurement and a generic introduction to basically all surface relevant characterization techniques, keyed to the specific process and application under discussion.

Within these 1200 pages is a wealth of the most current information on the field of surface technology today. The authors do not intend to rest with what is here. Through updates and the use of online resources, they intend to create a living document and a major resource for students and industry alike. The NASF is pleased to be affiliated with this major new reference.
